Write Up.

28 Nov

The intention of my site, was to sell myself in a subtle but interesting way. I also very much so, wanted the site to really be about me, but not show off myself, per say. I wanted me as a person to come through, but not be a website version of my facebook account. I wanted this to really be marketable toward potential clients, as well as interested fellow artist, friends and anyone else who cares about my work.

I did not want my site to be crazy busy or insanely designed. I wanted this to be clean and organized, like I am. I think it says a lot about who I am as a person and an artist. I was trying to be creative but simple. Fun but not over the top.  I feel i reached that in the site I have made, but I would still like to go back into it, to make it better. I would like to use “other” fonts and make more art available for viewing to show off more of me, my work, and my diversity as an artist. I learned a lot from “touching” the code myself for weeks and hours on end. It was a sickening feeling the entire time, but I made it to the end, and I feel I have a pretty polished product. In the future I would hope to learn to use flash and javascript more, but lets not get ahead of ourselves….

Personalized Party!

This web site “Plum Party” has personalized items for every occasion and I think it is awesomeeee. You can choose themes, gifts, weddings, etc etc. It makes life a little simpler, imo. The best part, bc Im a nerd, is that the images they show you are so nice for each product. They feel warm and welcoming, and useful unlike most sites that show you some stark object sitting there on a white background. This site uses great images of their products. And they give you a lot of options when it comes to customizing the color for each “favor”. Woo!

Wedding hand cream favor.

Women Are Objects.

27 Nov

This commercial  says one thing: women are objects, imo. Although as sick as it is, it is a bit humorous, this commercial is terrible and I can not believe that they actually tried to get it put on the air. Shame on them.
